MOE TIER II

2022-2025

Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE) Academic Research Fund Tier 2 grant, “Archiving the Underclasses: Knowledge, Law, and Everyday Agency in Modern Southeast Asia.” Co-Principal Investigator with Simon Creak, Ho Chi Tim, Koh Keng We, Samson Lim, Elliott Prasse-Freeman, Matthew Reeder, and Nurfadzila Yahaya. Principal Investigator: Maitrii Aung-Thwin. SG$790,595 (US$584,969).

ARI WORKSHOP GRANT

Asia Research Institute (ARI) Workshop Grant, “Underclasses and the Law in Southeast Asia: Epistemologies and Experiences,” SG$15,000 (US$11,164).

2023-2024

CFPR GRANT

2023

Center for Population Research (CFPR) provided a supplemental grant to support wour workshop on "Asian values and the Family."  We received SG$1,250 (US $942).

SRSS

2013-2023

Over the years, the NUS Staff Research Support Scheme (SRSS) has funded my research.  In the past decade, I have received SG$26,500 (US $19,720).

FASS CONFERENCE GRANT

To attend conferences, I apply for the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) Annual Conference Grant.  To date, I have received SG $31,569 (US $23,900).

2015-2024

LSA IRC FUNDS

2016-2023

As a co-coordinator of an International Research Collaborative (IRC) at the Law and Society Association (LSA) annual conference, I was able to receive a grant each year to assemble panels.  From 2016-2023, our IRC received US$30,840.

MOE TIER II

2018-2021

Singapore Ministry of Education Academic Research Fund Tier 2 grant, “Grievances, Conflicts, and Dispute Resolution in Asia: Comparative Socio-legal Perspectives.” Collaborator with David Engel and Sida Liu; Principal Investigator: Lynette J. Chua. SG$119,386 (US$87,000).

KINGS COLLEGE GRANT

As a fellow of the Kings College Transational Law Summer Institute, I was able to apply for a Small Project Grant to support a workshop.  We received £2100 GBP (US$2,734).

2018

SOCIOLOGY WORKSHOP GRANT

The NUS Department of Sociology provided a grant to support our workshop participants.  We received SG$1,200 (US $876).

2016

LIVERPOOL WORKSHOP GRANT

The University of Liverpool provided a grant to support our workshop participants.  We received £6,000 (US$7,928).
